Colby Armstrong: The Newest Toronto Maple Leaf

July 1st, 2010 by Jeff Langridge Leave a reply »
The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Colby Armstrong to a three—year, $9 million contract.

In 79 games with the Atlanta Thrashers last season, Armstrong scored 15 goals and added 14 assists for 29 points.

Armstrong definitely fits GM Brian Burke's mold of truculence, pugnacity, or any other word for toughness he can think of. I would expect him to play on the second line unless Burke is successful in acquiring another top six forward.

As Burke continues his rebuild of the Maple Leafs with the acquisitions of Armstrong and Kris Versteeg, the future is starting to look a little brighter for Leafs Nation.
