Indiana Pacers star Paul George was ejected during the third quarter of Saturday night's 111-94 win over the Chicago Bulls for kicking a ball into the stands, the team announced.

Per ESPN.com's Nick Friedell, the ball "appeared to hit a fan." George went to apologize, but it didn't do any good, as he was tossed.

The incident occurred after Bulls star Jimmy Butler drove to the hoop against George, who knocked the ball out of bounds and was called for the foul.

After a fan hit the ball back onto the court, George kicked it into the stands and hit the fan.

There has been no initial word on whether the league will take further action.

George had 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes, a performance that will hurt his early points-per-game average of 24.0.
