Ingrid Williams, Monty Williams’ Wife, Dies at Age 44 After Car Accident

Ingrid Williams, the wife of Oklahoma City Thunder associate head coach Monty Williams, died Wednesday due to injuries suffered in a car accident.

Erik Horne of the Oklahoman passed along an official team statement:



The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski noted that Ingrid and Monty Williams have five children. Per NewsOK.com's Jenni Carlson, Williams was 44 years old.  

Monty Williams was the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans before joining the Thunder. One of his ex-players, Eric Gordon, reached out to send his condolences, saying, "Saddened to hear about the passing of Ingrid Williams. Condolences to coach Monty Williams and his entire family."

After Wednesday's game, current Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry sent his condolences, saying, "It's really, really tough. Anybody that knows Monty & his family knows the high character and class."
