Reggie Jackson Illness: Updates on Pistons Guard’s Status and Return

Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson is dealing with an illness that will force him to miss at least one game.

Jackson Ruled Out of Wednesday's Contest Wednesday, Feb. 10 The Pistons square off with the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, but Aaron McMann of MLive.com noted Jackson was a "last-minute scratch" because of the illness. 

It would be a difficult blow for the Pistons if Jackson is forced to miss significant time, especially since they signed him to a five-year extension this past offseason with the idea of making him the starting point guard for the foreseeable future.

From an offensive perspective, he posted the best stretch of his career in 2014-15 with the Pistons. No longer behind Russell Westbrook on the Oklahoma City Thunder’s depth chart, Jackson averaged 17.6 points and 9.2 assists per night in 27 games and did enough to earn the necessary long-term trust to merit the extension.

He has once again been impressive this season with 19.1 points and 6.2 assists a night through the first 53 contests.
