Dallas Mavericks: NBA 2010-2011 Season Preview

The Dallas Mavericks finished last season with a record of 55-27 to win the Southwest Division. They were eliminated from the playoffs by the San Antonio Spurs in a 4-2 first round series loss.

PF Dirk Nowitzki returns as the scoring and rebounding leader, putting up 25.0 PPG and grabbing 7.7 RPG. PG Jason Kidd returns with 10.3 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 9.1 APG last season.

The team had an overall good season last year with a few weaknesses to work on. Their post play was lacking and they made some changes there over the offseason.

The Mavericks were able to trade off aging C. Erick Dampier and pull in C. Brendan Haywood and C. Tyson Chandler.They are also very strong at the SG position with versatile scorer, Caron Butler, and proven vet, Jason Terry, as his backup.

Overall, the Mavericks made some very good decisions this offseason. They will most likely find themselves in the third spot in the playoffs for the Western Conference and have the potential to earn 50-55 wins in the regular season.
