There are many teams interested in Willie Mitchell, but I am going to look at the three best fits for his services among the teams interested. Here they are, in no particular order:
Los Angeles Kings
No doubt the LA Kings have a very good defensive corps, but what they are missing is a big, strong, hard-nosed, defensive, defenseman like Willie Mitchell. Yes, you could say Rob Scuderi is all of those things to some extent, but he is not the type of guy who will lay someone out with a big hit or strike fear in a forward's eye.
I know some of you LA fans will be saying that we have Matt Greene, and I know that. I didn't mention him because he will likely miss the first month or two with an injury.
It is unknown if Mitchell will end up in LA, but Nick Kypreos has stated that he is the Kings' No. one priority right now.
