Washington Capitals: Caps Win Second Straight with Dramatic Comeback at Florida

Though only two games, a win streak has got to feel great for the Washington Capitals. The Caps beat the Florida Panthers for the second time in a row on Tuesday night with a 6-5 overtime victory. Troy Brouwer put the puck in the back of the net just 32 seconds into the extra period and sent Washington home happy.

The Caps started the night on the right foot when team points leader Mike Ribeiro put the visitors on top just four minutes into the game on a power play goal. The goal was his fourth of the season.

However, the lead was short lived. The Panthers posted two goals within three minutes of each other to take a 2-1 victory into the first break. The Florida goals were scored by former Capitals Tomas Fleischmann and Shawn Matthias.

Both teams traded multiple second period goals to bring the score to 4-3 in favor of Florida. Karl Alzner and Matt Hendricks scored for Washington, while Jonathan Huberdeau connected twice in the period for the Panthers.
