Taylor Over Tyler: Good News for the Toronto Maple Leafs?

For the better part of last season, people have been speculating about the possibility of Boston acquiring a lottery pick in exchange for Phil Kessel. With the conclusion of the season, this proved to be true.

When the Leafs traded their first- and second-round picks this year and first-round pick next year, it was well known to Brian Burke the risk that he was taking. But he did it anyways and has stated again and again that he would do it again.

With the draft taking place this past Friday and Saturday, Leaf fans everywhere saw the real outcome of the Phil Kessel trade when the Bruins took Tyler Seguin second overall.

But could their pick be good news for the Leafs?

While Tyler Seguin will prove to be a great player in the coming years, the fact that he was drafted by the Bruins could be great news for the Maple Leafs.

On a team whose strength is down the middle, the Bruins used the two picks they acquired from the Maple Leafs to draft Tyler Seguin, a center, and Jared Knight, another center.

Of course these are two great prospects to add to their organization, one has to wonder why a team with so much streng ...
