Sabres Rookie Jack Eichel Steals Puck, Scores Goal with Nasty Wrist Shot

It's early in the goings, but Buffalo Sabres rookie Jack Eichel is already proving to be a capable force in the NHL.

Buffalo drafted the 18-year-old forward from Massachusetts second overall in June's NHL entry draft. Suffice it to say, he's begun to pay dividends.

Through the Sabres' first three games, Eichel has found the back of the net twice. His second goal of the season came Monday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. It was a dandy from start to finish.

Eichel's goal came in the third period of the Sabres' 4-2 win over Columbus. The sequence began with Eichel stealing back a blocked pass and ended with the wunderkind slotting a mind-bending wrister into the far side of the net.

The scariest thing about Eichel's play here was the intent. This wasn't luck. This was a series of decisions.
