Raffi Torres Signs with the Vancouver Canucks

According to multiple media outlets, the Vancouver Canucks have signed UFA forward Raffi Torres.

Torres was drafted fifth overall in the 2000 NHL draft by the New York Islanders. Since then he has been a consistent 30 to 40 point scorer when he stays healthy.

Torres is a very solid two-way forward who can play in all situations. He is a very experienced forward who will provide toughness, leadership, and experience to a team who has had recent struggles in the playoffs.

I personally love this signing as Torres is a guy who will happily play in the bottom-six but if someone gets injured ahead of him, he can take their spot in the top-six.

The Vancouver Canucks are expected to announce the signing at some point today. The contract is a one-year deal worth $1 million.
