Predators vs. Panthers Goes to Early Intermission After Fan Is Struck by Puck

Saturday's game between the Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers went to an early intermission after an errant puck hit a fan toward the end of the second period at the BB&T Center.

NHL Public Relations shared a statement, noting the teams would play the final 32.1 seconds of the period when they returned to the ice for the third period:

Florida trailed 3-0 when the incident took place, and the Predators went on to win 5-0.

It's an unfortunate incident, but things like this do happen at sporting events, such as a baseball flying into a crowd.

NHL arenas feature tall Plexiglas that surrounds the rink, but a puck can clear it. There is no word on the status of the fan, but hopefully the Panthers will do all they can to help out following the accident.
