NHL Teams Oblige Jordan Leopold’s Daughter’s Wish for Dad to Be Traded

March 2nd, 2015 by Kyle Newport Leave a reply »

Jordan Leopold's 11-year-old daughter Jordyn missed her dad, so she wrote a letter to the Minnesota Wild asking the team to bring him home.

It worked.

The defenseman had split time between the St. Louis Blues and the Columbus Blue Jackets this season. Jordyn and the rest of the Leopold family—Jordan's wife Jamie and four kids altogether—live in Minnesota, which means they have not been able to see Jordan very much during the season. The family missed him, so Jordyn took it upon herself to try to fix things.

On Monday, as TSN's Bob McKenzie reported, Leopold was headed home:

Leopold should probably thank his daughter for making this deal happen.

The letter probably wasn't the reason the Wild traded for Leopold, but it does make this a great story.
