According to several New York Rangers beat writers, including Andrew Gross and Steve Zipay, the Rangers and Marc Staal may be closing in on a new contract.
The two sides have been talking the whole day, and have agreed on some major points. Nothing is official yet, but all is going well in negotiations, and that's all anyone can ask for at this point.
Just last week it seemed as if the Rangers may lose their young defenseman. This is obviously good news for Ranger fans.
A deal may be done earliest this weekend, and i'd expect it to be around four years for about four million dollars per season.
