NHL Eye of the Hurricane: Philadelphia Flyers Looking To Add Erik Cole

I know I posted an article earlier stating the Philadelphia Flyers were considering adding John Madden to the mix, and that hasn't changed a bit.  However, there has been one name that, although fairly silent in the past few weeks, just doesn't seem to want to go away.

That name is Erik Cole.

Cole won the Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes back in the 2005-2006 season. 

What makes things interesting is the fact that Peter Laviolette was Carolina's head coach that season.

Cole has 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points so far this season.  Not exactly the "blockbuster" trade everybody was hoping for, but this seems to have much more credibility behind it.

Laviolette has some pull within the organization, obviously, and I'm sure he would love to have one of his former Stanley Cup players on his current roster.  I'm also sure he has already put in a good word for Cole to general manager Paul Holmgren.
