New York Rangers To Share an ECHL Team With the Philadelphia Flyers

Some small breaking news to report today, it's been confirmed by many sources (including ECHL.com) that the New York Rangers will share the Greenville Road Warriors with the Philadelphia Flyers. The Rangers recently lost their ECHL team, the Charlotte Checkers, to the AHL.

The Greenville Road Warriors are owned by former Rangers GM Neil Smith, so there is a bit of a connection. The Road Warriors were previously the Johnstown Chiefs, before being relocated.

The only other professional hockey team to play in Greenville were the Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL. No, I did not misspell the word growl, the team actually spelled their name Grrrowl.
