Jaromir Jagr Jokes That He’d Rather Go to Bahamas Than Play in All-Star Game

Despite pleading with fans to not vote him into the 2016 NHL All-Star Game, Florida Panthers right wing Jaromir Jagr has been voted in as a captain.

Now, the veteran forward finds himself having to go to Nashville, Tennessee, later this month to take part in the festivities. As he recently told reporters, that's not something he is really looking forward to.

The NHL changed the All-Star Game format this season to a three-on-three game. While some of the younger players may like that tweak, the 43-year-old Jagr doesn't think his body can handle it. He even took to Twitter last month to try to get fans to not vote for him for that reason:

The fans apparently didn't get the message.

Jagr addressed the situation hours after the captains were revealed, once again expressing concern for his life:

His initial tweet probably worked against him, as it likely led to more votes. That sense of humor is great to see and may have won over some fans.
