Florida Panthers React to TV Station’s Error That Has Team Playing in Super Bowl

The Florida Panthers may have initially thought Sunday was going to be an off day sandwiched between two games. However, according to one television station, the team has a game on Super Bowl Sunday.

The opponent? The Denver Broncos.

Wait a second...an NHL team playing in the Super Bowl? Something's not right.

Per Neate Sager of Sportsnet, this logo mix-up happened on a television broadcast in Canada. The station obviously meant to put the Carolina Panthers logo in the graphic, but the Florida Panthers logo wound up being used.

Just like that, the Broncos went from underdogs to heavy favorites.

Florida hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday and travels to Detroit to take on the Red Wings on Monday. Now, it looks like the team will have to change its travel plans to play the Broncos.

Fortunately, the hockey team appears willing to just go with the flow.
