Detroit Red Wings: Will Jiri Hudler Ever Show Up To Play?

When the KHL's HC Dynamo Moscow folded operations prior to the 2010-11 KHL season, Jiri Hudler was granted permission to rejoin the Detroit Red Wings and fulfill his arbitration contract awarded in the summer of 2009 for two years and $5.25 million.

But it seems like after Dynamo ceased operations, Hudler decided to do the same.

After producing 54 points in 54 games in the KHL, Jiri Hudler was supposed to be one of the Wings' best players this year. But he has been far from it.

Leaving Detroit to go to the KHL could prove to have been the worst move that Hudler could have done in his young career.

Jiri Hudler is proof that the hockey in the KHL is far from the NHL brand of hockey.

So far, Hudler has struggled. He has been the casualty of healthy scratches, not to mention he gets pushed around out there by opposing players. Hudler has been put into many different situations to try to spark his game, but nothing has worked.

Everything seemed rosy as Hudler, in three preseason games, had three points.

But in the regular season Hudler has played 22 games and currently sits at six points. Every ...
