Vancouver Canucks Recall Winger Jonas Andersson, His Scouting Report, Perrault

The Vancouver Canucks announced today that winger Jonas Andersson has been recalled from the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

Andersson, 29, last played North American hockey in the 2002-03 season when he suited up in five games with the Nashville Predators. After seven years in the Finnish Elite League and the Kontinental Hockey League, Andersson made the decision to return to North America with the Predators for a second crack at the NHL.

Andersson, who was among the last cuts, was dealt to the Canucks with Ryan Parent for Shane O'Brien and Dan Gendur.

Little known is about Andersson, but he told The Nashville Tennessean back in September that his game is about speed.

"That's what I build my game around, working out in the summertime on my strength and speed and quickness. That's pretty much how I play," Andersson said.

"I tend to focus more on the explosive parts on my skating. During the summer, I tried to lose a few pounds on the upper body and build my game even more because it's about quick starts and stops."
