Detroit Red Wings: Crystal Ball Reveals Win Against Penguins Tonight

So, I did this a couple of weeks ago before the Wings faced the Minnesota Wild and the win I predicted did indeed materialize.

Here's hoping lightning, silly as it might be, strikes twice.

The last time the Penguins played at Joe Louis Arena, they ended the game by skating the Stanley Cup around, celebrating their third franchise championship.

While tonight's game can hardly be considered an opportunity for redemption, sending the Penguins home as losers is a goal the Wings' should have sufficient motivation for.

That said, here is my totally bogus, unscientific prediction for tonight's game, including analysis, final score, and game-winning goal-scorer.

Red Wings 4, Penguins 2

Gazing into my crystal ball, I see a Wings' team coming out with determination and focus in the first period.  True, they're short-manned again, as forwards Patrick Eaves and Dan Cleary are still out with injuries, but, the remaining Wings get started on time and play with purpose.

The first period ends in a stalemate as neither team manages to score on the other.
