Craig Anderson Injury Could Mean the Season for Colorado Avalanche

October 26th, 2010 by James Crider Leave a reply »
On a rare night in which he wasn't slated to start, Avalanche star goaltender Craig Anderson suffered a right knee injury at the conclusion of warm ups. The severity of the injury is unknown, but Anderson couldn't put weight on his right leg, and won't accompany the Avalanche for their next game in Calgary.

If the Avalanche lose Anderson for any significant period of time, their chances of a playoff birth may be doomed.

Anderson set an Avalanche record with 71 starts last season, and carried the team on his back with a 38-25-7 record, while leading the NHL in saves.

Colorado is off to a shaky start with a 4-4-0 record through eight games, and losing their MVP of last season may prevent them from having any chance of returning to the post season for a second straight year.
