Andrew Shaw Will Auction off Stitches He Received During Stanley Cup Final

Andrew Shaw, the 22-year-old energetic center for the Chicago Blackhawks, has decided to auction off the stitches that were on his cheek after getting hit in the face with a puck during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, according to Tom Ley of Deadspin.

Ley relayed the message that Shaw wrote on his Facebook page Tuesday:

Starting Thursday August 15th, 2013 we will be auctioning off the actual stitches that Andrew Shaw received from a puck he took to the face in Game Six of the Stanley Cup Finals. This auction will be run for ten days ending on August 25th, 2013 on eBay.com

We will post links to the auction on this page. The stitches are being professionally framed with an autographed photograph of Andrew Shaw plus there will be other items included in this auction lot.

The money generated from the auction will be donated to the V Foundation to help fight cancer.
