With The Signing Of Steve Blake, Are The Los Angeles Lakers Moving On?

With the signing of unrestricted Derek Fisher hanging on a thread, the Los Angeles Lakers have seemed to look in a new direction.

Point Guard Steve Blake has reportedly agreed to a multi-year deal worth around the area of 16 million dollars.

The Lakers will be Blake's sixth team since he joined the league, and with Derek Fisher not getting the contract he wants early the job might be handed to a quality player in Steve Blake.

Although he has not proved himself in the moment as Derek Fisher has time and again, he would prove to be a solid backup option to play alongside Kobe and Gasol.

I think that Derek Fisher will ultimately resign with the Lakers, because why wouldn't he?

And in that case, Steve Blake would take Jordan Farmar's roster spot because he is looking else where to find a starting job.

Blake could either be a solid starter instead of Fisher, or he could bring energy, toughness, and a solid three point shooter off the bench.

If or when Derek Fisher resigns I believe this will be an ultimately good move for the Lakers look to defend their championship and go for the three peat.
