Why Lebron James and Chris Bosh to Chicago Is NOT a Done Deal

It seems every media outlet or source out there believes the Chicago Bulls are going to acquire both Lebron James and Chris Bosh, especially with the great trade that they were able to pull off on draft night.

Let's discuss some of the reasons why this won't happen.

First, the NBA will void any deal if the Bulls and these two players had negotiations before July 1st. This "done deal" would be highly questioned.

Second, it is known that Derrick Rose and Lebron James both need the ball to be effective and neither is a great shooter or great player off the ball in terms of offense (a la Ray Allen).

Third, the Bulls are still a couple of million short in terms of offering two max free agent contracts, and neither Bosh or Lebron James will take a pay cut.

But, let's assume all these reasons are somehow solved. Still, the main reason this deal won't happen is because of Chris Bosh.

Chris Bosh and the Toronto raptors have made it clear that it is in the best interest for both he and the team to get involved with a sign-and-trade (Bosh would get the extra year and Toronto would get some talent in return).
