NBA Free Agency: Five Players Besides LeBron the Knicks Need In 2010-11

One player stands out above the rest when you think about the free agents in the NBA this year: his name—LeBron James. One team in the running for his services is the New York Knicks. For the longest time, many considered them the favorite to land the All-Star forward for 2010 and beyond. However, there are a growing number of people who believe that there are other teams with a better shot at signing James this offseason—most notably, the Chicago Bulls. With that in mind, Knicks president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni would be wise not to put all of their eggs in LeBron's basket. In fact, Walsh and D'Antoni are meeting with other big-name free agents should they be spurned by James. That might be the smartest move the Knicks brass has made in at least five years. Forget LeBron, the Knicks can put together a team that will make the playoffs in 2011 if they lock up these five players.Begin Slideshow
