Ty Lawson Arrested: Latest Details, Reaction and More on Nuggets PG

Point guard Ty Lawson landed on the hot seat in Denver as the Nuggets beefed up their backcourt this offseason, but he may have punched his ticket out of town after getting arrested for reportedly driving under the influence early Tuesday morning.

According to TMZ, the 27-year-old veteran was taken into custody in Los Angeles after failing a field-sobriety test. He was previously arrested in January for suspicion of DUI.

"We have been notified of an incident involving Ty Lawson this morning in Los Angeles," Tim Connelly, the Nuggets general manager, said in a statement, according to Jesse Paul and Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post. "We will not have further comment on the matter."

Paul and Dempsey reported that Lawson was being held on $5,000 bail, and passed along more details of the arrest:

The California Highway Patrol says Lawson was pulled over driving a white Mercedes-Benz on U.S. 101 — known as the Hollywood Freeway — after an officer spotted him traveling "at a high rate of speed" about 1:30 a.m.
