What a strange ride the past 10 years have been for the Detroit Pistons. In a decade that began with the disastrous departure of a superstar, the team was rebuilt in the image of its city and became one of the most successful teams of the era.
And although the team won a title, it was marked more by what it did not do, essentially becoming this sport's version of the Atlanta Braves and Buffalo Bills of the 1990's.
However, most fans view this decade as an absolute success given the attendance numbers the Pistons have put up over the past 10 years.
