Time Is Up in Philadelphia: It’s Time For Sixers and Andre Iguodala to Part Ways

Just a few years ago Andre Iguodala looked like a rising star in the NBA. The Philadelphia 76ers saw this and decided to give the man a six-year, $80 million deal. Boy, would that come back to bite them.

Now the 76ers are in a tough situation. Iguodala seems like he is not going to get any better with this team and rookie guard Evan Turner appears to have some real potential after posting a double-double in the first start of his young NBA career. Turner is a more natural shooting guard than Iguodala. He is a very gifted passer with very good fundamentals and great court vision, differing from Andre's more athletic style of play, better fit for a forward.

We all know that trade rumors are always circulating around Iguodala. Teams around the league would love to have an athletic, versatile player like Iggy. He could definitely make a very good complementary player somewhere else in the league. But he is out of place right now with the Sixers. He just is not a superstar. He cannot carry a team on his back the way a true star can.

Not to mention the Sixers are in a rebuilding phase. They are a young team that needs time ...
