San Antonio Spurs power forward Tim Duncan is dealing with soreness in his right knee.

Duncan to Miss at Least One Game Sunday, Jan. 24 Duncan has been ruled out for Monday night's contest against the Golden State Warriors due to soreness in his right knee, according to the team. 

Duncan, 39, is averaging 8.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season.

Duncan has appeared in 37 games this season but has taken somewhat of a backseat to LaMarcus Aldridge in the post—while the offense continues to run through Kawhi Leonard with more regularity—playing a career-low 25.9 minutes per game. 

Because of his age—and because the Spurs have a deep roster that head coach Gregg Popovich isn't afraid to rotate—Duncan won't be asked to play through too many injuries and will be given his fair share of nights off, so his knee soreness is hardly a cause for concern.

He remains an important part of San Antonio's championship-caliber roster, however, and keeping him healthy into the postseason is vital for the Spurs. In h ...
