“The Akron Hammer” is the Best Nickname for any Athlete Around the World

Many of the LeBron fans around the world call him "King James," or "Bron Bron" or something like that.

Not me.

I call him the "Akron Hammer," the nickname given to him by Sportsnation 's Michelle Beadle.

The name fits perfectly. He was born in Akron, Ohio. Cleveland is not too far away from Akron. And every time he dunks, he bangs it in, like a hammer.

Beadle's co-worker, Colin Cowherd, does not like the nickname. I have no idea why he would not like the best nickname ever invented. Even announcers now call him the Akron Hammer. The nickname spread quicker than the swine flu.

Right when I heard Michelle Beadle offer the new nickname, I started calling him it. I come home from school everyday and immediately turn on Sportsnation . I love the show.

My brother and dad always look at me when I call him it, and they say "Why the heck do you keep calling him that?" All I say is, "It's the best nickname...ever."

You have your nicknames for other athletes, like Albert "The Machine" Pujols or Frank "The Big Hurt" Thomas, but The Akron Hammer is much better than any of those.
