Phoenix Expected to Make a Push to Land Nash as Coach Monday, Feb. 1 With the firing of Jeff Hornacek as head coach of the Phoenix Suns, per Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Chris Mannix of the same outlet expects former NBA star Steve Nash's name to emerge as one of the candidates to take over the job.  

As Mannix noted, "Suns owner Robert Sarver’s affection for Nash is well known—the two recently bought controlling interest of a Spanish soccer club—and there is no question the return of Nash would reinvigorate the fan base."

Marc Stein of ESPN reported the Suns have "strong interest" in Nash but that he is "not ready at this time to jump into full-time coaching." Stein added that Nash is "not prepared to leave family" in order to take a coaching position.

Nash has spent this season working as a part-time consultant for the Golden State Warriors.
