Any NBA team looking for a veteran forward who can run the floor, score and rebound should give the Dallas Mavericks a call about Shawn Marion.

Though the Mavericks are highly unlikely to go into fire-sale mode, Marion is a player who could net a good return if the Mavs decide to entertain offers for him.

Though it's not entirely impossible to envision the Mavericks trading Shawn Marion, it sounds like they are in no hurry to do so.

Last Friday, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported that the Mavericks "are not currently" trying to deal Marion. One source even told Stein that there's "no chance" of Marion being traded.

However, the Mavs do have incentive to deal Marion. If the team wants to have enough cap space to make "realistic" offers to Dwight Howard and Deron Williams, Stein writes that Marion will have to be traded.
