According to a Twitter post from Cleveland Plain Dealer Cavs beat writer Brian Windhorst, a league source stated the Knicks have shown interest in a potential sign-and-trade for Shaquille O'Neal.

Windhorst also later tweeted that Shaq was trying to get a two-year deal above the mid-level exception, but that would be difficult to pull off.

The Knicks are in the midst of a busy off season where they have already acquired six players in the last two weeks, including PF Amar'e Stoudemire. Amar'e and Shaq played together during Shaq's tenure in Phoenix.

Shaq is 38 years old and coming off a season with the Cavs where he averaged 12.0 points and 6.7 rebounds a game.
