Shabazz Muhammad Injury: Updates on Timberwolves Star’s Abdomen and Return

The struggling Minnesota Timberwolves will be without one of their top scorers, as second-year star Shabazz Muhammad will sit out with an abdominal injury. 

According to the team's PR staff on Twitter, Muhammad is being held out of Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs with abdominal soreness:



Muhammad is starting to emerge as a strong offensive player in his second season. The former UCLA standout is averaging 13.7 points per game and shooting 48.8 percent from the floor. Minnesota is a young, rebuilding franchise, so he is proving to be a big part of what the future could look like.
