Rudy Gay Injury: Updates on Kings Star’s Ankle and Return

Sacramento Kings star swingman Rudy Gay suffered an ankle injury Friday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Gay Ruled out for Remainder of Game Friday, Feb. 5 Gay only played four minutes and scored two points before exiting the game, and James Ham of CSN California confirmed he would not return because of an ankle sprain.

Kings reporter Kayte Christenesen said Gay had X-rays after the game due to increased pain, which came back negative.

Gay has suffered a few minor injuries this season that have kept him out a few games, but not for significant stretches. The Kings, however, have held their own in Gay's absences—going 4-0 in games he's missed. 

As Kings radio producer Deuce Mason noted, Sacramento got added contributions across the board, from center Willie Cauley-Stein to shooting guard Ben McLemore, among others:
