Rudy Gay Injury: Updates on Kings Forward’s Heel and Return

As the Sacramento Kings look to continue their winning ways, an injury to Rudy Gay's heel is threatening to derail their potent offense. 

According to James Ham of CSN Bay Area, Gay is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Indiana Pacers to rest his left heel.

Injuries Hobbling Gay Saturday, Jan. 23 Gay has been banged up at various points this season, missing one game in November with a left shoulder strain. The 29-year-old originally injured his heel in a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday and had to sit out a game against Atlanta the next night. 

Despite Gay's absence, the Kings have been on a recent hot streak. They have won four straight games coming into Saturday and have climbed up to the final playoff spot in the Western Conference even though they are four games under .500. 

Gay has taken a more efficient approach with his game this season. His 17.9 points per game marks his lowest output since he was a rookie with Memphis in 2006-07, but his 46.6 shooting percentage is his best rate in six years.
