Rajon Rondo Reportedly Won’t Be Punished for Apparent Trip Attempt vs. Mavericks

Sacramento Kings point guard Rajon Rondo has found himself in the headlines a handful of times this season, but he reportedly avoided a suspension or other punishment for his actions during his team’s 117-116 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.    

Sam Amick of USA Today reported Thursday the NBA elected not to punish Rondo “for his sideline kick toward Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams in the first overtime of their game.”

An anonymous source told Amick of the ruling because the NBA “does not typically announce decisions that don’t result in discipline."

Rondo did not actually play in the game because of a back injury, but he appeared to stick out his leg from the bench and attempt to kick Williams’ foot when the Dallas point guard pump-faked a shot. Dan Feldman of NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk shared a look at the video.
