Pau Gasol Injury: Updates on Bulls Forward’s Hand and Return

The injury-riddled Chicago Bulls took another hit Wednesday when Pau Gasol suffered a hand injury against the Sacramento Kings.

Gasol Reportedly Hopes to Play Friday Wednesday, Feb. 3

Gasol played 36 minutes and registered a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds in the 107-102 victory, but he underwent X-rays after the game. Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune noted the X-rays were negative and confirmed the big man hoped to play against the Denver Nuggets Friday.

Kuc also shared a quote from Gasol: “It’s pretty sore right now.”

This is yet another setback for Gasol after he dealt with shoulder and Achilles injuries earlier in the season. When healthy, he is one of the most important players for the Bulls and was averaging a double-double coming into Wednesday’s contest with 16.7 points and 10.9 boards a night.
