P.J. Tucker Injury: Updates on Suns SF’s Chest and Return

Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker suffered a chest injury in his team's game against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday and will not return for the second half, per Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

Tucker Injury Becomes Depth Issue for Suns Thursday, Jan. 21 Tucker played just six minutes in the first half before suffering the injury, grabbing one rebound and failing to score. He has played in all 44 games for the Suns this season, starting 42. The small forward contributes a little bit of everything. He was averaging 6.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game heading into the matchup with the Spurs.

The 13-win Suns, who were already dealing with depth issues heading into the game, can't afford to lose someone who gives them nearly 30 minutes per contest. T.J. Warren started the second half for Tucker, but it did not go well, per Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic:



Even with the foul trouble, expect Warren to get the bulk of Tucker's minutes should he miss any more time.
