Cavaliers 99, Pelicans 84—Final

LeBron James registered 27 points and eight assists, guiding the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 99-84 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday at Quicken Loans Arena.

Cleveland (36-14) held off a second-half charge from Norris Cole, who scored a career-best 26 points—16 of which came after the break.

Kyrie Irving poured in 29 points for the Cavaliers, picking up the slack for an injured Kevin Love. Behind six triples, J.R. Smith added 20 points.

Anthony Davis tallied 24 points and 11 rebounds. However, the Pelicans trudged to an abysmal 21.7 percent mark from three-point range, and the bench combined to shoot 8-of-36 overall.

New Orleans dropped its fourth straight game and fell to 18-32.
