NBA Free Agency: LeBron James, Chris Bosh Would Form NBA’s Premiere Duo

Twenty nine months have passed since the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Pau Gasol, and over that period of time, they have celebrated a particularly dominant run. Los Angeles has enjoyed a 143-50 regular season record with Gasol on the roster, has participated in three out of three possible NBA Finals appearances since his acquisition, and won two consecutive championships to boot.

It was considered a major league heist when Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak pried Pau from the Memphis Grizzlies. Seldom do you find the best wing player and the best big man in the league on the same team, but incredibly the Los Angeles Lakers have been fortunate enough to have that twice...this decade.

While I maintain that LeBron James is the best player in the league, the Cavaliers as a team have been bringing a knife to a gunfight. We as fans haven't been lucky enough to witness a Cavaliers-Lakers NBA Finals, but on paper at least the Lakers would have been an overwhelming favorite.

I'd compare the Lakers to the Spartan empire. They are established, they are the most talented. On the same note, I'd compare LeBron James to Achilles. Unquestioned bad ass, but can' ...
