Minnesota Timberwolves: Is Evan Turner Worth the Cost of Elton Brand?

This has been in my mind terribly over the last few days, as I haven't been able to write for the last few days amongst disgust over the NBA lottery, which once again cheated the Minnesota Timberwolves (and the New Jersey Nets whom I felt sorry for) out of their supposed lottery position.

The Washington Wizards win the lottery, and the Philadelphia 76ers win the 2nd overall pick.

While the Wizards will have a perfect fit with John Wall, the Washington Wizards will look like the most athletic team in the NBA. With a core of John Wall, Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee, they have good pieces in place for their future. The Philadelphia 76ers would be adding Evan Turner, a versatile player that resembles Andre Igoudala.

So far, the signs point to the 76ers wanting to trade down, and the Wolves are in perfect shape to do so. More than likely, the 76ers want to draft either Demarcus Cousins, or Wesley Johnson, two perfect fits for the 76ers.

The Wolves want to trade up to the number two slot. To do so? They would have to more than likely take on Elton Brand, and his contract which will pay him 66 million dollars over the next 4 years.
