Mike Dunleavy Injury: Updates on Bulls SF’s Recovery from Back Surgery

Chicago Bulls swingman Mike Dunleavy may be nearing his return to an NBA court as he recovers from back surgery.

Dunleavy Assigned to Bulls' D-League Affiliate Monday, Feb. 1 Chicago confirmed Monday night Dunleavy would join the Santa Cruz Warriors as part of his rehabilitation. A year after dealing with a bothersome ankle, his 2015-16 debut has been delayed due to back surgery and an extended rehab process. 

Tony Snell and Doug McDermott have acquitted themselves nicely from beyond the arc this season, but neither player can match Dunleavy's catch-and-shoot prowess.

During the 2014-15 season, Dunleavy nailed 39.6 percent of his catch-and-shoot threes and 46.9 percent of his triples via pull-up attempts, according to NBA.com's player tracking data. Chicago's offense has also long benefited from Dunleavy's ability to space the floor and open up driving lanes for Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler.
