Matt Barnes Injury: Updates on Grizzlies Star’s Hamstring and Return

Memphis Grizzlies swingman Matt Barnes is currently dealing with a hamstring injury. It is uncertain when he will return to the court.

Barnes Ruled Out for Monday's Game Monday, Feb. 1 Barnes played 22 minutes in Memphis' victory over the Sacramento Kings Saturday, but the Grizzlies confirmed on Twitter he will miss Monday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

There aren't a lot of great options on the team's bench to stand in for Barnes on the wing. Head coach Dave Joerger may be best off using Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol even more to slow down the pace and run the offense through the post more often.

Memphis also has Vince Carter and Jeff Green as veteran options to fill the void on the wing while Barnes is out. Green can attack the basket and create offense with flashes into the lane, while Carter is a solid perimeter shooter, even at age 39.
