LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki and Carmelo Anthony headline the NBA news this Sunday night. Another weekend of NBA action is in the rear view mirror. And, as one would expect as we enter the middle session of the NBA season, the biggest news comes from monitoring injuries and possible trade scenarios rather than the outcomes on the court.

The most recent was a 96-99 loss to the Chicago Bulls. The Heat's next game is at home Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks. LeBron playing status for that contest is up in the air.

While this week saw LeBron miss his first games of the season, it also saw Dirk Nowitzki return to action for the first time in nine games. Nowitzki had been sidelined with a knee sprain. In Nowitzki's absence the Mavericks were just 2-7. His return did little to stop the Mavericks negative momentum. The Mavericks lost to the struggling Grizzlies by an embarrassing 19 points.
