Carmelo Anthony Trade News: It’s Going to Happen At Some Point (Maybe)

Carmelo Anthony trade news, at this point maybe we should just start calling it the Carmelo Anthony trade reality, whatever we want to call it, it is still going on and may or may not be closer to a conclusion. The weekend started off with the news that the long rumored mega-player three team deal that would send him to the Nets had fallen through.

The ball appeared to be back in the Knicks court and the Knicks were reportedly about to trade Anthony Randolph for a first round pick in order to sweeten their deal for Melo. The Knicks very well may still be in this process, but they better hurry.

It appears as if the reports of the Nets three team deal falling through were premature. Nets principal owner Mikhail Prokhorov was granted permission to meet with Carmelo this week. An indication that he is on the verger of becoming the newest and most prized member of the Nets.

The deal is rumored to involve 14-16 players. The Nets, however, are not going to pull the trigger on the trade unless they can get Anthony to ink a contract extension. Hence the meeting between he and the owner.
