Larry Nance Jr. Injury: Updates on Lakers Forward’s Knee and Return

Los Angeles Lakers rookie forward Larry Nance Jr. left the floor during Saturday's game against the Utah Jazz with a knee injury and did not return. It is uncertain when he will return to action.

Nance Out vs. Rockets Sunday, Jan. 17 Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reported Nance underwent an MRI and was diagnosed with a sore knee and will miss Sunday's game versus Houston.

Injury Slows Nance's Development Knee tendinitis slowed Nance to start his maiden NBA season, but the 27th overall pick in the most recent NBA draft has nevertheless managed to crack the starting lineup as a rookie.

Between 2014 lottery draft pick Julius Randle, Ryan Kelly and veteran Brandon Bass, L.A. has three players at the 4 who can definitely pick up the slack while the 23-year-old recovers.

Nance has excellent athletic ability but raw skills and will likely need a full season or more to develop. However, he's averaged 8.9 points in the last 10 games and has shown steady improvement as the season goes on.
