Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak: Amnestying Kobe Bryant Not an Option for LA

Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak has addressed the notion that the team could amnesty Kobe Bryant after he tore his Achilles tendon against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. He's said that it's not an option.

As the Lakers look in four directions at once, still trying to make their way into the playoffs while simultaneously addressing a very serious situation for their franchise, Kupchak and the Lakers haven't even talked about the thought that amnestying Kobe would be an option.

Bill Simmons brought it up while pointing out that it would save the Lakers a ton of money after taking their luxury tax into account, and the idea has just kind of run off the tracks from there.
