Kyle Lowry Injury: Updates on Raptors Star’s Wrist and Return

Toronto Raptors star point guard Kyle Lowry left Tuesday's win over the Washington Wizards with a wrist injury, according to Raptors Media Relations on Twitter.

X-Rays on Lowry's Left Wrist Negative Wednesday, Jan. 27 According to TSN's Josh Lewenberg, the team is calling Lowry's injury a sprain. Lewenberg added that the All-Star point guard told reporters he's "fine" after his wrist appeared to get hurt fighting for position on defense:



Lowry dealt with back spasms toward the end of the 2014-15 NBA campaign and suffered a left shin contusion in Toronto's loss to Washington in Game 2 of its opening-round playoff series thereafter.

The Raptors will have a hard time replacing Lowry if he's missing for an extended period of time. He is a hard-nosed defender and creates plenty of offense for himself and his teammates, averaging 20.9 points, five rebounds, 6.4 assists and 2.2 steals per contest this season.
