Kristaps Porzingis’ Childhood Days with Cornrows Won over Carmelo Anthony

Once New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony spent some time with rookie teammate Kristaps Porzingis before this season, it didn't take long for him to join Team Zinger.

While Anthony may have been impressed by the first-year player's basketball skills and his willingness to learn, he became a fan of Porzingis for reasons that have nothing to do with basketball. All he needed to hear was the story behind the hairdo he rocked back in the day, and then he was sold.

Back in October, the world found out that Porzingis had cornrows as a kid:



When the pictures surfaced, Porzingis told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News that both he and girls "loved" the look, which was inspired by Anthony and Allen Iverson.
